OT - referee comments on Law & Order
 

Was watching the Law & Order rerun entitled "Scoundrels" and there were two scenes in which basketball referees were discussed. The first was in the opening scene where two guys were coming out of a YMCA after a men's wreck league game. One said he would have scored more points if the other guy had kept his hands off him. The second guy said he didn't hear any whistles. The first guy replied that the refs were busy watching the girls volleyball game on the next court.

The second reference came later in the episode when one lawyer said another was a great point guard in law school and he helped beat the med school team three years in a row. A third lawyer then asked if they had bribed the refs.

It's unusual to hear references to referees on this show, let alone two unrelated ones in one episode.

BTW - we never get distracted by a girls volleyball (or basketball) game on an adjacent court, do we? ;)

If the line referred to me, it would have said I was busy looking at the hot moms in the stands and the girls volleyball game on the next court.

As to going through withdrawal, I just look forward to 20 years of reruns.

All of which you should be able to see by the end of the month, at least for as much as they play them around here!
