Hey. It's been a while since we heard it, so let's let Mark Padgett have some fun with the newbies.

[QUOTE Anything we need to do regarding the shot clock other than signal for a violation?

I have never done a game with the shot clock. QUOTE]

A lot can be discussed when it comes to the shot clock. One of the big issues is whether you get an experienced shot clock operator. The rules regarding the shot clock are fairly straightforward but sometimes the operator jumps the gun and resets the shot clock when the ball goes out of bounds or on an airball etc.... Try to be aware of the shot clock and pick up any discrepancies. If you notice that the shot clock was reset by mistake and you are aware of the correct time; it will impress the evaluators if you make the correction.

At this point in my career, i usually glance at the shot clock at every whistle and double check before the ball is inbounded. Before a throw-in, the officials in our area usually signal the number of seconds left on the shot clock if it is under 10 seconds. Being aware of the shot clock running down near 0 will help you make the proper decision on whether it is a violation or not. Make sure you spend time pre-gaming any shot clock issues; but that's just an obvious statement.

Good luck.

It went pretty well. I made most of the adjustments, but not the two hand reporting. Thought about it when #22 fouled, though.
