OT - My wife's family had a state champion

My wife's great grandfather lived in Eveleth MN in the early to mid 1900s. Her family history shows he played on the town curling team from it's inception until the mid 30s. Here's a short story my wife found on the net while researching her family's history:

CURLING CLUB
This was established on June 10, 1909. There was a curling rink in the Recreation Building on the corner of Adams Avenue and Garfield Street. Curling was furthered and greatly inspired by the famous Dunbars, who had many champion curling teams. Curling teams from Eveleth won the Minnesota State Championship in the Merriam Medal Curling Bonspiel thirteen times between 1924 and 1948. The present Curling Club is located on Monroe Street, above the Monroe Playground.

BTW - MTD Sr. and I refereed their first match in 1909. :p

Yeah, it's similar to necking, which is a damn good sport. Herring, however, is not.

Here we go.

I noticed that Billy selected a RED curling implement.

Continuing along off topic - my wife's research has also found she is descended, on her mother's side, from Stephen Randall, who was the commander of the Minute Men during the American revolution! Another one of her ancestors ran a stopping point on the underground railroad during the American civil war.

Quite a history of which to be proud.

On the other hand, my most famous ancestors were my maternal grandfather, who worked for Al Capone and my maternal great-grandmother who was a madame in a bordello. Oh yeah, I also have a cousin who has been in and out of prison his whole adult life for fencing jewelry. Not kidding.

However, the absolute worst is probably my cousin Bobby, who is a lawyer!

Couldn't Bobby keep your other cousin out of prison?

Maybe Bobby doesn't like the other cousin. In any case, my sympathies, Mark, on having a weasel in the family tree.
