More fouls than points!

Had games for my local kids rec league today. One was 7/8th grade girls. One team committed 12 fouls in the first half and 22 in the second half! They lost the game 48-32. Five of their players fouled out including four starters. Even though this game was only seven minute quarters with a three minute halftime, it still took over an hour and 45 minutes.

The good news was that their coach didn't complain about even a single call. Of course, that might have been because he's also a Board member, like me.

BTW - none of their fouls were technicals and two were intentional, both for fouling an inbounder before she released the ball. Almost all the other fouls were for pushing or blocking. Gee - we didn't even have a single reaching or over the back foul. Huh - how did that happen?

Just for the record, the other team committed a total of 16 fouls for the entire game.

Because there are no such fouls. Check the NFHS signal chart in your manual. I haven't called a single reaching or over the back foul in twenty-nine years. Not even one. I have, however, called a, "Whacked in the head", foul, and that's not on the NFHS signal chart. It should be.

Don't confuse the newbies. They take every word you say like it's Gospel. Until they get to know you. Then they take every word you say with a salt shaker of salt.

Is one of them the monkey's uncle?

Edit: My God? I don't believe that I've used, heard, or thought about, this phrase for over forty years. Why does the Forum have this effect on me.
