Brawl at basketball game in Enfield, Conn.

Read the Home Coach's comments about the officiating in the fourth paragraph of the article.

Went to A Fight And A Basketball Game Broke Out ...

We take our high school basketball games very seriously here in the Land of Steady Habits.

Yeah, poor officiating caused the fight, but no wait, the fight was started by a student who came down from the stands.

Billy Mac:

Any guess as to whether the CIAC will discipline the coach for commenting on the officiating to the media?

The officiating could not have been much worse than the writing in this article.

"...a student who was not in the game shoved his shoulder into another player."

Does this mean this student was a team member who didn't play or just a student from the stands?

Either way, the teams were shaking hands when suddenly this student recalled the poor officiating and blew his top.

Wink We're the key!

Haven't you heard? Poor officiating is to blame for fights started by those in the stands, injuries cause we don't blow our whistle enough, coaches getting fired, etc.

If we only did our jobs, no one would get injured, there would never be another fight...heck, there would be world peace, all deadly diseases would be cured, world hunger wouldn't be a problem....

Coach is a class A moron. Reporter is an idiot for taking this coach's word on anything, including the stats on how many were arrested, after blaming officiating on a post-game fight started in the stands.

"Seven Against Five " ...

The fight after the game in Enfield wasn't half as bad as the post game comments from a coach a few weeks ago. Check it out:

Good post BillyMac.

Let us know about the fine and or suspension. I'll be curious to hear what happens next.

Funny that you picked up on that. Here in the Land of Steady Habits, almost all of our games are two person games. Funny because this was one of those rare games where three officials were used because this was a "big" rivalry match up.

Here is a lengthy article on situation. Really a long article for a high school basketball game and resulting consequences

Sounds like Ed Lynch and John Adams went to the same public speaking seminar.
