Finally - a funny parent comment

Last night, 6th grade boys. About 10 minutes before game time, I notice a mom in the bleachers giving her son, a player, a neck rub. I walk over and ask her where the line is. She smiles and says, "How many points will you spot us?" I smiled and told her it depended on how good the neck rub was. She laughed and said, "Well, then I guess we're getting about 100 points". :)

Never thought of officiating as a way to pick up the ladies, but you might be on to something!!
Are you sure you were not just an extra and they were filiming Cougartown or Desperate Housewives at the game?:D

Who would have thought "I love a man in uniform" would apply to zebra shirts and black pants. Maybe it's the shoes.

Actually, "Leverage" is filmed in Portland.

BTW - back in 1993, there was a movie entitled "The Temp" with Timothy Hutton and Lara Flynn Boyle that was filmed here in Portland. There were some scenes shot at a middle school and one of the scenes was of a basketball game. My brother-in-law Jim was a teacher at that school and they gave him the part of being the referee in the scene. He had never refereed but he is about 6'4" and looked the part (he was a football and baseball player in HS and college and played in the Mets organization). Unfortunately, he wasn't listed in the credits - but he did get paid pretty well. Oh yeah - he wore a collared shirt. I think that's all there was back then.

Also BTW - he and his wife (my wife's sister) are both retired now and they play golf virtually every day. What a life!

Thus, I am guessing the back rub ended with a Happy Ending.:D

In Mark's case that only means no overtime.

Yeah, 'cause otherwise he'd need different meds.

Maybe this is the literal 'knock, knock' joke in Official's circles...

..a coach asked me if she could get a technical for thinking something.

I said "of course not".

She said "I think you stink".

We've been married for 3 years. Divorced for 10.

Best referee pickup line I've heard yet - said to a hot mom in the stands before a girl's game: "So, which one of these girls is your.....sister?"
