I reffed a JV game tonight that wasn't near as much fun as last night's game. This one was a foul fest and we didn't call all we could have. My partner's were relatively inexperienced so it didn't have quite the flow.

After the game, I was in my civvies hanging around to watch the varsity officials. A woman came up to me and asked if she could talk to me about the JV game that I officiated. She said that she and others were quite impressed with my agility on the court and were trying to guess my age.

I bit. "So what did you come up with?" I asked.

She said, "They guessed 46 but I thought 50?"

I smiled. "I'll be 55 next Sunday."

I'll take it.
