aka "techincal foul"

What is your favorite nickname for the "technical foul"?

I use "whack", quite a bit. I've heard "Uncle Charlie" and others. Would love to hear yours.

Uncle Charlie is a curve ball...

My favorite is probably: thunder struck.

yup....and I always wonder why I've heard others use it in basketball.

I just say, "I whacked the head coach".

"I rang him up." I know, another baseball term. I just can't bring myself to say "I whacked him."

"Stuck him"

"Popped him"

"Dumped him" is my favorite slang term for a baseball ejection BTW.

I never thoughts of "whack" until I joined this board a few months ago. I like that...but I find myself when I say to other officials I had to "whack" a coach, they look at me funny.

Keep saying it for the sake of seeing if it catches on. Keep a log of officials that convert.

I don't know of any other terms for a "techincal foul". I guess you could say "I just issued a misspelled foul to that coach".

Sorry - it just seemed like no one had pointed out any misspellings in a long time and I was getting restless. Nothing personal.
