Weird ending

Had a game tonight that ended on a 3-pointer with 2.9 seconds left that gave the home team a 2 point lead.

(1) The visiting team had a timeout left.
(2) They never used it. They watched the shot go through and let the clock completely run out. We watched closely, both of us ready to grant the timeout we expected there. The coach was too busy being crestfallen and her assistants (3 of them) did nothing to alert her.

We also called 10 (TEN!) illegal screens tonight. You'd think after the first 2 or 3 the teams would adjust and either screen legally or give up on screening altogether? Nope. And we kept calling them. The two players that fouled out in the game did so on illegal screens. Some were the typical moving screens (blocks) but at least 3 that we called involved sticking the knee out and blocking/tripping the player.

That many moving screens in one game is a lot. I've seen maybe two or three in a game before.

In the "you think they would learn" department, a few weeks ago I was waiting for my VG game and as we watched the JVG game. The same player inbounding the ball was called for a violation on THREE separate occasions in the same quarter. Same thing:

1) You think she'd figure it out,
2) You think the coach would have someone else inbounds the ball.....
