Look at it in this video about 10 seconds in.

The only part of the defender that touches the shooter is his left arm, which makes contact with the shooter's arm and the ball. The fall looked nasty, but it wasn't because of any excessive contact.

There is absolutely no way from that video that you can say it wasn't excessive contact.

It looked like a clothesline on an airborne player to me. I have no problem with the intentional.

Why? After watching it live and seeing that video, I don't see how the Trail could come and get that. The Lead had a much better look at the defender's left arm (That one that actually made contact), and the right arm didn't touch the shooter. I realize the drive started in the Trail's area, but I thought he was reaching quite a bit. (For full disclosure, I am a fan of the home team)

I'm just saying that the video you show is no indicator either way. I could make an argument for why it absolutely should be excessive contact as easily as you make the argument that it shouldn't be.

Considering this was C that called it (not T - L was across the lane) he was the only official with a good angle on the play.

This was a no brainer. A textbook call by a quality crew.

x2....you really HAVE to come in and take control with a play like that. They closed in on the action, and you see the trail restraining the coach and keeping him from getting into a "heat of the moment" issue where he would need to be disciplined. Great job crew!

You cannot see all the contact from the angle this was taken. The original video you posted from the same angle as the C's viewpoint indicates contact to the head. And it was the C who made the "crossed arms" signal.
