alley-oop foul

if the player who jumps is fouled before the pass arrives would it be non-shooting? If A1 touches it but no control and then is fouled, shooting?

Before pass reaches him it would be a non-shooting foul since he's not in shooting motion with ball.

If it is a controlled tap for an obvious try at basket and gets fouled, we're shooting two (or one if try is successful). This would be the same as if a player goes up for a rebound tap for a try at two points.

Yes. THere are case plays on "tapping" the ball to the basket (most, I think, occur on a rebound at the end of a period). The same logic applies.

Tap, Foul, Horn, No Basket, Bonus, One And One ...

If I recall correctly, over twenty-five years ago, a tap was not treated the same as a try, i.e., no control on a tap. I was glad when they changed the rule so that both are treated the same.
