FT administration question

I was watching a HS VB game last night (NFHS). Officials blew the ball dead, conferred for a few moments, then called an intentional foul on W34 and a technical foul on B45. After reporting the fouls W24 shot the technicals, then W got the ball at midcourt (opposite the table) for the throw-in.

Was everything administered correctly? I wondered why B didn't get to shoot the FTs for the intentional foul.

You need to clarify exactly what happened again. You mentioned technical free throws but nothing about free throws for the intentional foul. Also, was the original whistle for the intentional foul?

Shoot them in the order they happened...

2 FT's for the Intentional Foul....with the lane cleared.

2 FT's for the Technical Foul...with the lane cleared...TI OOB at mid-court across from the table.

What I understand from your OP, this would be a false double foul.

I agree with RookieDude's penalty and sequence.

I didn't see the cause of the stoppage in play. Based on what happened immediately after the official blew his whistle (B45 had to be restrained by his teammates and an official) I'm guessing W34 committed the intentional foul and B45 retaliated in some way.

No one on B shot free throws for the intentional foul. W shot the technicals, then W got the ball for a throw-in at half court.

Then it was administered incorrectly.

Perhaps it was ruled a common foul and not an intentional foul, and B was not yet in the bonus.

Possible. It was close to the end of the game, but I didn't think to look at the scoreboard to see what the foul totals were. I made my statement based on the announcer's call over the PA system. Maybe he misspoke. Hard to believe, I know...
