Talking OT - great quote about pro athletes

The sports section in my local paper, The Oregonian, had a quote from former pro baseball player and author Jim Bouton. He said that baseball players are smarter than football players. He said baseball teams never have too many players on the field.

I always like reading stuff about Bouton. He went to my HS.

But there have been beisbol plays when they had too few players on the field on defense though. One was with Keith Hernandez of the Mets back in the mid-80's. He left the field to do something and nobody noticed they only had 8 players on defense until after a pitch was made. IIrc they had a do-over.

Manny Being Manny ...

Didn't Manny Ramirez take a few minutes to go to the "powder room" inside the Green Monster in Fenway Park a few years ago. If I remember correctly, he just made it out in time for the next pitch.
