Perhaps I do still have some of my youthful idealism left after all.
It's not a matter of how anybody feels. And it's got nuthin' to do with idealism either. It is what it is.

If we stay and do the forfeited game, we have no insurance coverage. That doesn't mean that we can't still stay and do a scrimmage. That's completely up to the individual official. They just have to make that decision knowing that they have no insurance coverage from their officials association if they do so. They may still be covered under the group insurance of whoever is running this league if they have coverage though.

Personally, I agree with Newz about not staying. But it also ain't up to me to judge anybody that does want to stay. Conversely, they shouldn't be judging me either.

Agreed, but you're still taking all the fun out of it.

Actually...do you know that when most people say "actually", they are really saying "hey stoopid, I'm right"....but I digress.....there's some good points brought up in this thread.

If anyone has insurance through their association, state, NASO, etc., they should check their coverage for situations like this. I know how our insurance coverage reads; I also know that some other policies will cover all games that their customers recognize and approve, such as scrimmages following forfeits.

And Newz had a good point also---> shut up.
