last second 2 point basket

Mechanic as calling official for either trail or best, C opposite table. Last second basket. I always just give the basket good sign with a wave of arm that I use to end quarter/half with arm that was raised.

Saw a Varsity game tonight and C with last shot responsibility gives the 'touchdown' signal for a last second put back. ??????

Made me wonder????

I give just a "good basket" signal. Had one that was a three tonight, so I gave the "good basket" signal, then "touchdown". I have a feeling that waving the period off might cause confusion.

I never wave off the period if the basket counts.

Signal #14 works for me (+ signal #16 if a three-point try was successful).

Right, It sort of stunned me that he gave the touchdown, and as it was a premiere conference in Chicago area and a big game.

What is waving off a period? On a last second shot, we wave off the shot if it's too late, count it if it's good, and make no signal if it's no good.

If you give #16, you don't need to give #14. #16 already indicates that the basket is good.

True. However, just trying to give the table all the communication they need so there's no confusion.

I would use #14 and #16 just to sell the crap out of it.

Why? It's a 3 point signal????

If it's close I'm selling #14 as I'm going to table to tell 'em it's good.

IMO giving #16 adds to any confusion, signal #14, go over and report it to make sure.

Done deal.
