travel.. double dribble ..No Call?

As described to me ...A1 bringing ball up court ball hits a dead spot on court ..A1 tries to revive dribble by tapping it from a dead stop ...ball subsequently moves as he is tapping (batting) it trying to get it to a dribble ..what is the correct call ..or no call?

Did someone put a pillow on the floor? How does a ball that's being dribbled just stop all of a sudden in one spot?
