Wrong player steps in to take free throws

A1 point guard is fouled by B1. I call the foul as the trail(2 person). A is in the bonus. I point shooter to partner and report foul. Receive ball to administer free throws as lead (IAABO state, still using old mechanic) and A2 (post player) is standing on the line. Coach of B yelling that A2 is not the shooter. I get A1 and administer free throws.

A2 was no where near the play and clearly knew he shouldn't have been on the line. 10-6 says its only a T to knowingly attempting free throws for another player.

A2 did not attempt any free throws but should I have given a T to A2 anyway?

Again, A2 was a post player nowhere near the foul that occurred near the division line.

You could have justified the T as unsporting behavior, however it was probably better to just switch the players since there weren't any FTs attempted.

You can T up your partner for not helping after the game if you wish.

I agree with Nevada, with the addition that a quick word to not try it again with the player who stepped in to take them may be in order.
