What's the correct number of free throws...
I recently witnessed a game where ON ONE PLAY a player was assessed with a flagrant foul and ejected, the head coach was then given two technicals and tossed, and then one of the assistants was also given two t's and the heave-ho. How many total free throws should have been shot?

10...if I'm counting correctly and the referee hasn't yet declared the game over...

If:
The flagrant foul was on an unsuccessful 3-point attempt: 11 free throws total. 3 for the flagrant foul 2 for each T Else: 10 free throws total. 2 for the flagrant foul 2 for each T |

It's a HTBT call, but a flagrant foul followed by four technical fouls by coaches is a lot of unsporting action... As for what happens if all coaches are ejected, that's a state and local issue. Most states will require a school representative of some type on the bench. |
[QUOTE=frozenrope22;650513]Is this an option? How many T's does it take to call the game? QUOTE]
2-5-5 The referee may declare the game a forfeit when conditions warrant. 5-4-1 the referee shall forfeit the game when team, bench, or coach repeatedly commit technical fouls or other acts which make a travesty of the game. I had to do this once in a men's corporate intramural game. Players were warned that future acts would result in termination of employment. It didn't happen again. |
