starts with elbow, ends with charges
Fight at high school basketball game could result in multiple charges
A fight between players got ugly when fans rushed the court. I'm going to this school today for GJV game, but I don't expect problems. Once fans are involved, it is a game management issue. But, I'm glad it wasn't me- I'm not sure how I would handle this. |
I suppose it would depend... but I could see 5-4-3 coming into play.

If fans rushed the court I'd get the hell out of the way. At that point, MY security is most important.

Question.....
The article states, "Four police officers were at West High School helping to patrol the game when the fight broke out."
I usually have one, maybe two, officers of the law, at my games. Is it common to have this many? Rival schools maybe? Big games? Just curious. Thanks |

rsl could probably answer better than me if those two schools are rivals? |
This is a large inner city school, and this was a rivalry game. Even so, four policemen at a game is not common here.
I don't know who the refs were, or if earlier game situations affected this. I assume I might hear more info at our association meeting on Monday night. |
And The Dog You Rode In On, What ???
I once had a game at a state technical school where there was a state trooper and his dog on duty. Big, I mean really big, German shepherd. He and his K-9 camped out in the corner of the gym. Several times each period the K-9 would bark loudly. Sounded like Cujo. I hated being the lead in that corner. I kept thinking "I hope he holds on tightly to that leash".
