Inbounds

While driving to the basket A1 is fouled intentionally by B1 goal is good. A1 shoots 1 shot. Where should the ball be inbounded at. This was a high school game. (PIAA)

1) Why did A1 shoot only 1 shot?

2) The ball is inbounded at the spot nearest the foul.

What Bob said......

The penalty for an intentional foul is always 2 shots plus the ball at spot nearest the foul.

Even an intentional foul committed on the shooter of a missed 3-pointer?

You knew that.

Had the exact play as the OP last week in a HSJVB game. Sure enough, as I'm reporting the foul I have HC of B asking why does A get 2 shots if the basket was good? And then of course after the shots he's questioning why we're giving A the ball on the endline for the throw-in (B IF'd A as he was going up for the layup) and not out at the division line. Quote..."noway do they get the ball there...it's suppose to be at halfcourt just like a tech"
All this happened at B's end of the court. He wasn't yelling or being out of line in anyway....just the opposite, very respectful, just a little mixed up on his rules.

Probably meant "at least" instead of "always." ;)
