ft- ball to ref

say on a ft once a player has the ball from a ref do they have to shoot it, or timeout. Can a player pass the ball back to the ref to allow someone from their team move into a spot? Would the ref call a violation or not allow the player to come in and then give the ball back to shoot?

Once the player has the ball at their disposal. They can request a timeout or they have 10 seconds to shoot (or violate). No other options.

Peace

Violation if they pass it back to me. Or if I'm really generous I will blow the whistle, tell him never to do that, deny the player to enter a lane spot, and continue. But in a varsity contest, I have a violation.

Why penalize the non-offending team?
