How many could you do?

Just got an email from one of the guys for whom I work rec games. Tomorrow, he's going to start scheduling games for the next three weeks. He has well over 400 games to cover in that period.

Hmmmm...maybe I should take all of them. Oh wait, some are at the same time as others. I guess I could only work about 250. Darn.

Not a problem for my partner Diebler and I. We'll take the remaining 150 games AND we'll work them for FREE. Just send us airfare and let us run the concessions as well!!
Oh, and we would want to bring in Eaglehaslanded to work the table and crowd control if he is available between ambulance rides!!!

I think you have summed it up quite succinctly.

Well, I took "only" 16 games in 16 days from this guy. Added to my other games, I'll have at least 40 in the total three week period (there's two more MS tournaments that haven't been scheduled yet plus I have my "normal" kids rec schedule). I'm kind of taking it easy right now. ;)

As much as we like to make fun of the table guy, and I'm right up there, I think it's in bad taste to make light of their families health problems. Just me.

I just checked Camron's RefTown website, where one of my assignor's games are listed and I now have partners assigned to almost all of those games. I noticed one guy is driving about 40 miles to work a kids game with me. Wow - I must be quite an experience. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Maybe he just needs a good laugh.

BTW - Camron's assigning website is outstanding. I would recommend it to anyone.

I just had to say it.

Diebler could not handle the Michigan defense yesterday. I doubt he can handle that many games. :D

Peace

Hard to argue with this.

But that was as a player. Officiating is easy. Anybody can do it.

I know, the Michigan defense cannot be that hard to deal with. Just ask Rich Rod. :D

Peace

One of my assigners recently switched to RefTown and I agree with you, it is the cat's pajamas.

Which one? We've picked up many of AssignByWeb's former clients.

And as far as I know, they are all quite pleased (several emails from various assignors seem to confirm that). Some of them even switched to Arbiter first, then switched again...and are happy they did. :)

Usually, all data needed to transfer can be directly obtained through the ABW website. I can convert someone in about 30 minutes from the newest version of ABW and a bit longer on most of the older versions. But a few organizations, with non-standard customizations, have reported resistance from ABW in getting that extra data. ABW is apparently being paid a kickback by Arbiter for every account that goes with Arbiter. That explains why ABW is, in all of their communications, are attempting to steer everyone to Arbiter and are not doing anything to help customers save their data who are not going to Arbiter. Nothing illegal about that, but I would expect a little more transparency.
