60 second officiating e-mail

I receive these from time to time on a blast e-mail and they seem to have interesting topics and reminders.

An archive piece I listened to referred to lead as the anxiety position and they say to relax and put your wait on your heels, this will aid you in having a patient whistle. Subtle, and I like that tip.

They also mentioned rather than discuss when to rotate, they list when NOT to rotate, which are fairly obvious but a nice concise reminder. I'm tossing these into my pregame.

Immediate pass
Immediate shot
Immediate dribble drive

Many other topics in their archives

Apologies if this has been discussed before.

Have you considered joining Ed Rush's court club? If you're enjoying the 60 Seconds on Officiating - you'll beyond love the Court Club imo.

There are two associations I belong to

'If it's free it's me' in the greater Chicago area

and the PGA..............professional guest association.

I have a mind to join a club and beat you over the head with it.

I've been printing their e-mailed articles for the past year. I put them in a binder along w/similar type pieces and some of the more informative and helpful lists/tips that have appeared on this forum (BillMac,Snags). As a relatively new official I find these all to be a helpful learning tool and handy early season "refresher". No sub for the Rule & Case books, but one thing I like about the :60 Seconds on Officiating pieces is that they always come with NHFS citations.

How long do you have to wait on your heels? That could get painful after a while. I had to wait on my toes once for an extended period of time. Then I had to call a toe truck. Oh yeah, and once I had knee-monia! :p

Well, considering the fishnets, no doubt the waiting was on your toes.
