They were confused...

The table was....I got a hold on Red Player #11. I report the foul. Play goes on, up and down the court a couple of times. Player #11 was then fouled in the act of shooting.

As he steps to the line the dreaded horn, Player #11 had 5 fouls when I reported my hold, but the table neglected to tell us....

Here's how I handled it. The sub shoots his 2 foul shots and away we went.

Did I kick this or is this the correct way to handle this

I'm pretty sure that is correct. Rule book isn't in front of me but I think this was a discussion I had with a few officiating buddies of mine at the bar a week or two ago.

Ten Four Good Buddy

I'd say you got it right!
2-11 NOTE:
2. The procedure if a player who has committed his/her fifth foul continues to play because the scorer has failed to notify the official is as follows: As soon as the scorer discovers the irregularity, the game horn should be sounded after, or as soon as, the ball is in control of the offending team or is dead. The disqualified player must be removed immediately. Any points which may have been scored while such player was illegally in the game are counted. If other aspects of the error are correctable, the procedure to be followed is included among the duties of the officials.

Case book right?

2.11.3 SITUATION: When may the scorer signal?

RULING: If the scorer desires to call attention to a player who is illegally in the game, he/she may signal the official when the ball is in control of that player’s team. If it is for a substitution, the scorer may signal when the ball next becomes dead and the clock is stopped. If it is for conferring with an official, he/she may signal when the ball is dead. If the
scorer signals while the ball is live, the official should ignore the signal if a
scoring play is in progress. Otherwise, the official may stop play to determine the reason for the scorer’s signal.

Why are you questioning whether this case is right?

There was no specific case book play, it was just a question.

No, you asked if case book is right.

This is going to sound harsh but you're really very annoying with your posts that for the most part, everyone has to clean up.

I guess you add some value with all your mistakes, they compel us to correct them.

Seriously? You posted a "specific case play," titled your post "case book right?" and didn't put any other questions in your post.

Do you have an actual question, or just the one I wondered about which you somehow denied?

I imagine that most new posters lurk here for awhile, then stick a big toe in to see how the water is.

This non official just does a clumsy cannon ball in the kiddie pool for an opening act.
