Foul + goaltending
Situation: A3 is shooting a 2 pt shot. And:
(a) is fouled by b4 on the shot- that misses and defensive goaltending is called on b5. (b) is fouled by b4 on the shot- that makes and defensive goaltending is called on b5 (c)is fouled by b4 on the shot- that misses and offensive goaltending is called on a1 (d) is fouled by b4 on the shot- that makes and offensive goaltending is called on a1. The question is what is the result of the play as for basket and shots. |
Quote:
(b) Count the bucket - 1 shot. (c) No bucket - 2 shots. (d) Cancel the bucket - 2 shots. |
Quote:
b) Score the basket and 1 shot c) Foul 2 shots, and there is no such thing as offensive goaltending. d) Foul 2 shots, and there is no such thing as offensive goaltending. If you mean basket interference that is possible but not goaltending. On goaltending the points are awarded due to a violation not due to a good goal. |

1 out of 4 ain't bad. (Exhibit 1 in people should look up the rules rather than just post whatever reandom thoughts pop into their heads) |
Quote:
b) Ok c) No such thing as offensive goaltending, are you sure? d) Same as c) |
So, what's the official ruling on these plays? Where would I find this in the rulebook?
