Player Control?

Team A has 6 team fouls.

A1 is dribbling, and does the old push off with the arm. I call the foul. Is this a player control foul, therefore a non-shooting foul even though it's the 7th team foul?

Correct. There are no foul shots when the offense commits a foul.

Had that just last night. Table buzzed -- twice! -- to try to tell us we should be shooting 1-and-1 after partner called a TC foul.

No player or team control on a throw-in. Shoot the shots.

True, no team control, but we do still have offense and defense during a throw in, so there can be a foul on the offense that might lead to free throws.

I'm just curious as to why you are unsure if this is a player control foul. Player control is defined as a player dribbling or holding a live ball inbounds. You said A1 is dribbling, the ball is live, he is inbounds and he commits a foul. What would make you suspect anything different? Please explain. Thanks. :)

Good question. "Player control" doens't just apply to "block/charge" situations.

I was 95% sure that it was player control, just making doubly sure. I got the call right in the game, just making sure for future reference
