I did 7 last week, and that's about my limit. I find I spend the extra money on Ben-Gay. (That is an analgesic balm, not a reference to any person, living or dead.)

All the "independent" MS organizations in my area play 8 minute quarters. They have no formal association with the NF or any state association.

Did you hear there's going to be only 49 contestants in next year's Miss America contest? Apparently, no one wants to be Miss "I-da-hoe".

Once worked an all day independent tournament on a Saturday. 11 that day.

Same week our little kids rec league tourney was going on 4 nights. Twenty something games total, I think.

Either of these schedules would kill me and I certainly know I wouldn't be doing either team's justice in the final game(s).

My hat is off to you sir!

That 10 and 11 in a day is a hazy memory now, and looking back it seems hard to believe. I don't recommend it.

Two weeks ago I did 12 games, including 10 varsity, a personal high.

I once worked a week straight days of games starting every hour, 24 hours a day. Sometimes there weren't enough refs, so I worked two courts at once. The ship croossed the international date line, so there were 8 days in that week. Total: 213 games in the week.

Personally I would agree with some of the posts above, in the past I worked games every day but found that the season was getting too long and my enjoyment was going.

Now I work maybe 5 games a week at most, although can still do more and get asked to. The fun is back and it is no longer a chore. I referee because I like to, working different levels of games from junior (u16) through to senior national men (Div 1 College level), and it suits me.

This way I can enjoy the game, it is a hobby (even if I must be professional on court) that I enjoy. Doing too many games became like work and on top of a heavy day job something would have given - most likely I would have walked away. Now it is back to being a joy (and not even the most entertaining coach you can imagine can spoil it).

Yeah, but were you in the middle of a ten second count when it did and did you then add 24 hours to your count?

Remember that, you old-timers? ;)

BTW, Bob - is croossed Swedish chef talk for crossed? Did you use that because the games on the ship were using FEEBLE rules? :)

The most I have done in one week is right around 35. I attended two camps, the first from Mon-Wed, the second Thu-Sat. The first day I did eight games. I now have chronic tendinitis in my right foot because of the over use. I'll never do that again.

Well, last night I thought I had it all worked out, worked two kids games and drove nine miles to Varsity game.

Twice I'm lead on free throws and wind up opposite table as both partners are making funny faces at me, and I'm locked in from two hours of two man being opposite table. Last time.

That's all I've done so far (and I've worked quite a bit of MS) but evidently some school districts do 6 min quarters.
