backcourt- throw in, fumble

Edit---A1 throw-in. Passes to A2 who jumps from Backcourt and lands in FC. Is this a violation? Is it a violation if A2 had fumbled the ball in air? So A2 never had control while getting the pass. If A2 had lost the ball completely and A3 gets it. Or if A2 gets control after landing.

Not a violation http://forum.officiating.com/basketb...ion-throw.html
Throw-in by Team A in their backcourt, near the division line. Pass made into the backcourt and is caught by an airborne A5 (who jumped from A's frontcourt and lands in their backcourt). Ruling? Play on

That's not a violation. A2 is allowed to leave the floor in the FC, jump, catch the ball and land in the BC on a throw-in.

what about from BC into FC. I guess I read one of the past searches wrong. Maybe it was a deflection or something.

I don't think your question was addressed in that link (jump from BC, catch, land in FC).

I think you're overthinking it. Not a violation. This is simply going from BC to FC, like any player does when they dribble the ball up the court. The key is team A never possessed the ball in the FC and no A player ever had FC status before having BC status.
