NCAA Men's Mechanic

I am not a college official. I only do High School. But, I do have a ?
Saw a mens gm, and a few officials have been reporting fouls with 2 hands. Womens and NBA style. It was number 14. I looked up in the mechanics book and it says something about 2 hand reporting but I was assuming that this just meant on numbers like 11,22,33,44,55.
Please help me with this.
Thank you.

Don't take this wrong, but.....

You looked it up (that's good), found the mechanics reference, and read that 2-hand reporting is allowed. Did you read anything about it applying to certain numbers?

Allowing two-handed reporting of numbers is new for NCAA-M this year. As far as I can tell the actual guidance on when/if to use this is pretty scanty. Not every conference may be doing it, not every crew, perhaps not even every official on the same crew. However, from what I've heard, the general consensus is ... if you're going to do it, then do it for every foul you report.

I did read that and that is why I am asking for clarification. Also, this is why I put the certain numbers that I was assuming it was for.
Thank you for your response. I just didnt know if that was the way the reporting was going to be or not.
It seemed very vague to me also.
Thanks again and Good Luck to ALL.

No, not at all. Just wanted to know what he read that led him to believe that 2-hand reporting only applied to double numbers.

It kills me that individual supervisors feel the need to overrule the CCA manual, because they may not like it. JMO

BITS's post is precisely why this directive was brought forth for our staff.
