Finally a Taste!

Boy, can this season get here any faster. Of course it doesn't help matters that PA decided to bump the season back a week because of football. Anyway I have had one college game so far, 2 more this week, a scrimmage Saturday and a college game the following week. Then finally Dec 11th the season gets underway. Can't Wait. Good luck to everyone as you begin another year! My thought and prayers are with you all thay we all remain healthy and our ears are chewed off during the year! Have a wonderful 09-10 Season!

December 11th? WTH????

We've been playing since November 16th. I've already worked 8 varsity games and I've got 10 more before you even start.

One of the many differences between NC and PA, where basketball doesn't qualify as a religion. ;)

Around here, the girls season begins Saturday, with the boys following by a week.

I did a scrimmage at one small school where 80% of the varsity team has yet to practice, since they've been off playing football in the state tournament (which seems to go on for months). The coach said that he had already rescheduled the first 4 games of his season in order to get some practice time.

In Massachusetts teams cannot even (legally) start practicing until the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Same here in Connecticut. Girls start practicing here on the Monday before Thanksgiving. State finals in most fall sports were held this past weekend. Regular season football ends on Thanksgiving, with state playoffs to soon follow.

Practice for both girls and boys was allowed to begin Nov. 20th. The season for both starts Dec 11th. PA moved it back a week because teams that were still in the football playoffs were complaining about not having players. Also PA has deducted 2 games from teams schedule. I think the max a team can play during the regular season is 22. The State Championships are March 20th or so.

I did my first game of the year last night, 8th grade girls. I don't have my first varsity game until next Monday, although I believe the girls are starting varsity play tonight. Jr high starts the first week of November in my area, varsity about three weeks later. We also don't have any games for about two weeks over the Christmas break.

Utah it starts today!!! the wait is over!!!

We started yesterday. I would not have it any other way. Thanksgiving week is a great way to start working basketball. BTW, the girls season starts the week before, but I do not work those games so that does not count for me. ;)

Peace

first VB tonight. it's been too long returning. On the flip side - I heard that both starting guards are out injured from football so could be a long night. Perhaps competitive though since starting point guard from both teams are out.

Next Week-Can't Wait!

My season starts next week with a boys tourney Tues-Fri and our Varsity girls opening day next Thurs. Good luck to all of you on a successful season!

I've already worked some fall rec league games and earlier today, I received info from two more rec leagues about my availability on one of the weekends in early December for some tournaments. This means that I will be working games for three different rec leagues that weekend. I'm probably looking at a minimum of 15 games in two days.

Better make sure my meds are up to date.
