table side on F.T.

Does lead and trails responsibilities stay the same with new 2 man switch where calling official stays tableside.Tableside still has shooter violations ,correct.

First Time Experience

Did the new two-man "trail goes tableside on free throws" last night. No big deal.
Gave coaches the opportunity for a question now and then. Mostly they respected my need to take a position to observe the line and the opposite lane and kept their inquiries quite brief.
Also, it seemed easier and more natural, as lead and administerer of the toss to the free thrower to make eye contact with the table, since the "finish" has me facing the table rather than with my back to the table.
This isn't going to be anything new after one or two more games.
Only caveat I can think of is that neither I nor others get caught up chatting with the nearer coach and neglect our line and lane responsibilities when the count needs to begin.

I just did a couple JH games tonight and we used the new “trail stays tables side” mechanic and I’m pleased to say that we survived it without incident. I had no problem remembering to go opposite the table at lead and to be honest; I think the free-throw process actually flowed nicer.
As the calling official, it simply felt a lot like a three-man mechanic. Just had to scoot down a bit after reporting. Never heard a peep from a coach.
