The Day The Music Died ...

November 6, 2009 will be the third anniversary of ChuckElias leaving the Official Forum, other than his "New, Improved, Official, Annual, Off-Topic, Baseball Thread". For those that don't recall that momentous occasion, here's a copy of his post on Monday, November 6, 2006, at 10:24 p.m, a day that will live in infamy, the day the music died.

"After talking about this with some friends from the board and some other officials, I've decided to stop contributing to the forum. As Mick alluded to in the baseball thread, I was hired by a couple of D1 conferences, although I didn't receive any assignments from one of them. Although it's not very likely, I don't want any of my comments to be misconstrued and then passed on to an assignor. Fear not, I will be back to start the annual baseball thread. And I'll keep reading. But I won't be posting very much anymore. If for some unknown reason somebody wants my input on something, you could still email me through the forum. It's been great, guys and gals. Everybody have a great season".

It appears that ChuckElias was a man far ahead of his time. According to one of our local IAABO board officers, who attended the IAABO fall meeting, there was a discussion at that meeting regarding legal issues in which it was strongly suggested that officials not participate in "chat rooms". Shortly after ChuckElias went incognito, one of my mentors suggested that I do the same, which I did. According to the legal issues covered at the IAABO fall meeting, I guess it is a good idea to post incognito, three years after ChuckElias made his momentous decision.

As far as me being incognito, I've given hints to my true identity on a few occasions. I post as BillyMac, an environmental chemical analyst, from Connecticut. I'm reality, "I'm just a sweet transvestite, from Transsexual, Transylvania." There are several local IAABO boards in Romania, so I'm confident that my true identity is still unknown.

That's a really old photograph, taken when we used to wear gray warmup jackets. We wear black warmup jackets now.

Here's a more recent photograph. I want my true identity to be concealed, so it's only a photograph of my lips. Ignore the writing under the photograph. Something must be wrong with my digital camera? Maybe it needs new batteries? Or maybe it was because I took the photograph last night, on All Hallows' Eve?

Is anyone aware of what these "legal issues" are?

(Note: Mark Padgett, God bless him, was taking my earlier post in an odd direction, thus, this more recent post.)

Billy, I'm starting to get a bit weirded out by your obsession with this Chuck person. And I'm not even short....

The legal issues revolved around a stalker on an internet officials chat forum -- who I will not name, although his name spelled backwards is caMylliB -- who was obsessed with some dude named Chuck Elias. There were restraining orders issued. And it just seemed likely to escalate from there.

Tragic.

:D

Word on the street is that this Chuck Elias person would check in to a hotel room and BillyMac would request the room next to his. He would drill a hole in the wall and secretly video Chuck. There is legal action pending, but Chuck is scheduled to go on Oprah to confront his stalker. :D
