SE Michigan - Little help here?

Hello fellow Metro Detroiters,

I am newly registered this year. I'm having trouble getting games this year.

I have mailed all of the assignors for this area. One has responded that since I'm new I needed a camp before any scholastic games (including jr. high and subvarsity). Work prevented me from attending any camps this year.

I do plan on contacting all of the athletic directors in the area, but I am worried that waiting until school starts may be too late.

I have joined two associations, but the meetings don't take place until November. Should I contact someone on the association board prior to the meetings?

I would welcome any help or advice on finding games. I will work any level beginning at the 3rd grade and am willing to travel a fair distance to gain experience.

Thanks.

P.S. This board has been a great help with all of my newbie ?'s thus far.

Have you tried contacting the SEMDGO Assn.? I heard they have lots of games to assign.

You don't know about SEMDGO? It's the South Eastern Michigan Driveway Games Officials. They work games that use a combination of rules that are seen on TV then modified by the player with the loudest voice.
