Can anyone who has their rule book handy help me out.
Last night in a lovely summer game the following came up. Free Throw sitch, non-shooting player is down on the blocks. How far backward can this player walk, as long as she stays within her "block lines". I contend that you can go to the sideline. My partner and the coach says it is only 3 feet. Did I kick it? |

1-5-2 The color of the lane-space marks and neutral-zone marks shall contrast with the color of the lane boundary lines. The lane-space marks (2 inches by 8 inches) and neutral-zone marks (12 inches by 8 inches) identify areas which extend 36 inches from the outer edge of the lane lines toward the sidelines. There are four marked lane spaces on each lane boundary line. |
Oh well.
deny, deny, deny..... |
Where was this player going?

I think she was just grumpy with herself, and during the first shot turned and walked away from the lane.
I saw no disconcertion, so why call anything? Guess I should have. |
