OT - wouldn't you like to see this at halftime?

Saw this video on youtube of a very impressive basketball cheerleading stunt. Just thought I'd share.

YouTube - Most amazing cheerleading toss!

SAK Sat Jul 04, 2009 09:21pm

That is sick its so good.

DonInKansas Sat Jul 04, 2009 09:27pm

My favorite part is how no ones congratulates the cheerleader who went through the basket.

What a bunch of tossers.:D:D

Adam Sat Jul 04, 2009 09:43pm

I think she got a concussion! Damn!

just another ref Sat Jul 04, 2009 10:12pm

Looks like a good way to get your face ripped off.

grunewar Sun Jul 05, 2009 08:01am

1) Can you imagine what happens if she misses horribly?

2) How the heck did they talk her into that?

3) This is actually an old video, but, I'm wondering how many others tried it or a similar stunt based on seeing it?

mbyron Sun Jul 05, 2009 08:30am

OK, but how many points?

zeedonk Sun Jul 05, 2009 09:46am

I try not to engage in superlatives very often, but that has to be the dumbest stunt ever.

They're clearly within the three point line, but I suppose you can review it if there's a courtside monitor available.

BillyMac Sun Jul 05, 2009 10:43am

Did She Really Do This ???

I watched this video several times. I find it odd that the tossers seem to be discussing the stunt, pretoss, like it was the first time they got together to try this, it almost seems staged. I also agree with DonInKansas that it's odd that the cheerleader seems to be left out of the celebration. Why would her shoes not get caught in the net? Is it possible that this video was "doctored"? I've looked for "doctoring" evidence several times, yet I don't see anything that would indicate that, but I'm no video engineer. My daughter was a high school gymnast, and I've seen some amazing stunts, but this one was really dangerous.

Who among us gets to see any of the halftime activities? We're in the locker room discussing the first half.

I'd stay out to see this.

And take bets which part of the poor gal's anatomy gets dismembered in the process, or if she clears the net, etc. Need to supplement that game fee somehow! :D

I think the early line is concussion minus 3. :D

BITS, I'm disappointed. The question clearly concerned how many balls went into or through the basket. :D

Seems to me she's got more than the guys who tossed her up there. Although none of them appear to have much sense.

Not real guys. Trick video.

WHAT?!? No way. That was REAL, dude! She went right through the basket and even hit her head on the way down! Didn't you see her grab her head at the end?

Not even a trick video, just an optical illusion. The stunt is done in front of the rim.

Next thing you'll tell me is there is no Easter Bunny, no Santa Claus, OJ Mayo went to USC for an education, Barry Bonds was clean, and we have a budget surplus in this country!

Shocked I tell ya, shocked I am!!

We used to have a politically incorrect term for this phenomenon.

So...

You no longer have the term? It's not longer politically incorrect? :D

Hmmm. A slight variation on your first possibility. "We no longer use the term." :)

Hugh Refner Mon Jul 06, 2009 12:24pm

Stop the video at the 19 mark and you can clearly see she is going through the basket.

Ah, but if it's an optical illusion, isn't that exactly what we'd expect to see? Hmmm?
:D

Not if you look carefully. Her body, at one point, is beyond the edges of the rim as she was supposedly passing through. She passed in front of the rim and either flicked the net with her hand on the way by or they had the net rigged to a string with someone out of the scene controlling it.

I think I saw a gunman on the top of the bleachers.

Well, that explains the net moving like it did. Now way it explains her head reaction, though. There had to be a 2nd shooter somewhere.
