An eighth grader? That is 6'9" and 286? That is just flat out unbelievable. Todays athletes are FAR superior than ever before. :O

Maybe he is 17 years old, and just a little slow in the book learning department. :)

I never thought of that...they never really mentioned his age...wait a minute...they did say he was one of 2 14 year olds at the Nike camp...so...WOW

Genetics experiment gone horribly wrong?

Jeez - this kid is taller than most of the guys on my college's varsity men's squad!

I was surfing last night, and stopped for an MSNBC interview with Frank DeFord, an SI writer. They were discussing the recent turmoil surrounding steroid use in baseball, and Mr. DeFord made the comment, "You go into a football locker room, and everyone is huge. You go into a basketball locker room, and everyone is tall. Until a few years ago you walked into a baseball locker room, and everyone looked like your average person."

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the big kid is big because of steroids, or anything like that. I would like to see his parents, though. Both have to be huge. And, can you imagine their food bill? Especially, if he has any brothers or sisters. Sheesh.
