Uniform Question
Tonight was the first night of a girls summer league in our area. The officials were wearing gray shirts with the little stripes on them. Can anybody tell me what this means?

They don't use Tide with Bleach?

Some areas allow them to be worn at the HS level so many HS officials picked them up back then and those that cannot wear them for regular season games now just use them for summer stuff. In short, it means nothing. |

Now, THOSE were some good looking shirts. I wish the logo was bigger though.

Officials working JUCO games in Iowa have been wearing those for a couple years now, at least. I think there was some talk about letting state associations allowing HS officials to wear them under state options...did that ever fly?

in the bay area ive only seen them for "summer ball" games...
or that is the only time i wear mine lol |
They are approved for HS games in Washington State. We have our choice of wearing the gray or stripes - the only requirement is that the entire crew has the same shirt type.

I prefer the greys over stripes any day. They're just so loud... Although we wear them for Pro-AM, at the HS level we can only wear them for summer & rec ball :( |

New Hampshire appears to wear the Mendy Rudolph Memorial grey with thin stripes.
I prefer zebra; its a lot easier to peripherally catch where your partners are. Besides, the vertical stripes make this aging body look a little less plump. |
