Smith T
Did anyone see the T that Bennett Salvatore gave JR Smith during the 4th quarter of last night's game?
It looked like Smith game a forearm into the back of Bynum. It was unnecessary (60 ft from the ball), but not particularly rough, malicious or hard. It also didn't disadvantage the offensive player. I know that NBA has no intentional foul, so he didn't have that option. In a HS game, do you call this intentional? Common foul? Stern warning? |
Looked to me (I didn't see this particular play) that they were reigning in a lot of marginal stuff by the 4th quarter. The T on Anthony seemed like case of that, as well as the flagrant on the Lakers, IMO.
Loved the T on K-Mart, too. Stupid move on his part. |
In last nights game, I think it was a good get in order to keep things from escalating in a chippy series. "No nonsense whatsoever" was the officials stance last night.
In HS I think it all depends... Did a knucklehead do it? Have we already spoke with this player? Would it make the game better to X that? No absolutes or always when it comes to good GM as every game is different! |
More "T's" this year?
Not that I've followed this particular statistic, but it seems like there are an awful lot of "T's" being awarded/earned/handed-out this post season.
Teams? Personalities? Just a thing? Trying to reign in bad behavior? Always been like this, just finally being enforced? Thoughts? |

Ch1 was on top of it, he said he might "X" it in HS ball. |
Yeah I only had to kick that once to learn you can't have a technical foul for contact during a live ball in HS :)
Good thing it was just a freshman game & not on the main stage. My mentor broke me down, "It looked great, too bad it was incorrect." :o |
