Jay Bilas Hates Consistency

He was on Mike & Mike this a.m. and he was upset at the number of fouls being called. He dislikes 'absolutes' as he called them. Which I guess translates into 'job well done' for the officials for consistently making the same calls on the same types of plays throughout the tournament.

Maybe he might suggest that the coaches and players adapt to what is being called and to avoid plays that will result in foul calls.

You want him to be rational? Well-thought-out? You want the world to end tomorrow?!?!

1 cup of coffee. Was not fully awake.

I just watched the replay of the Mike and Mike with Greenberg and Doug Gottlieb (filling in for Golic) rants and rave about the number of fouls called.

It is rather comical considering that one complains about the dumbest things on a regular basis and the other thinks he understands officiating.

I guess if a player is knocked down to the floor, and they are in disbelief, that means they did nothing wrong? Or better yet when nothing is called, and the same player is in disbelieve (I have seen all tournament long) then the officials are wrong?

This is why fans should not talk about officiating when they have no clue what they are talking about.

Peace

This is great - because early in the tournament I swear he said that the players and coaches need to see what the officials are calling and adjust their games to it ....

Time to put a little Jack Daniels in me!!

After hearing his comments during games this weekend, I've decided he is the new Billy Packer. He is truly a clueless idiot.

Consistency = less controversy. Less controversy = less need for "experts" to tell you what to think. Less need for experts = no need for Jay Bilas. No Jay Bilas = hey, that's a good thing. For us. ;)

So which is it...

I thought the game was getting too rough and we need to get back to the free flowing days of yesteryear? Now we're calling too many fouls? WTF?!?!

Bilas used to be the good one. Apparently Gottlieb has infected him with the "I was a marginal college player so I know how they should ref" germ.

Most officials refer to it as "Stupid Fever."
