E Tenn/Pitt
 

E Tenn makes a steal, drives to their own basket. Pitt player fouls A2, who is trailing the dribbler, and A2 then collides with A1 whose try is unsuccessful. A1 goes to the line for 2 free throws.

What do you think?

I think I hope they were in the double bonus.

I had the sound down, but on the replay I thought he was "fouled" by his teammate. It looked like the official called the foul based on the E Tenn player going down due to the contact, but the contact was by another E Tenn player, not by the Pitt player who appeared to be well behind. Which offical made the call? Was it the L, or the T trailing the play?

I think it was called by the L who was trailing the play because of the steal. I'm not a 100% sure though.

I was watching it on MMOD. I saw what Scrapper saw. It appeared to me that the Pitt player was the one who initiated the contact. All the replays were from ahead of the play so I'm not completely certain. I'll defer to the official who was there.

When did it happen in the game? I want to take a look at it when they but the archived video online.

I just watched this play on MMOD (not on the highlight only on the full video) and A2 (ETU #13) veered into B1 (Pitt #23). The contact caused A2 to hit A1 (ETU #1) whom was in the act of shooting. It should have been an Illegal Screen on A2 and the ball dead immediately.

Just for kicks lets say that B1 bumped A2 into A1. A1 would NOT be shooting free throws and A2 would be shooting if they were in the bonus. If I was on this play (the hypothetical one) I would think long and hard about an intentional foul.
