Cagers In The Land Of Lincoln ...

Didn't "March Madness" originally refer to the Illinois state high school basketbal tournament? Something about, "Play early, and play often", or something like that?

The term was apparently first used by the Illinois High School Association. And the IHSA sued a few years ago for the copyright laws or exclusive right for this game. The NCAA put out a video game called “March Madness” back in the mid to late 90s and the IHSA sued to have them remove the name from the game or give them money for the use of the term.

Peace

Maybe he's really a man's man and they don't take?

How long before it's safe to get back on the elliptical? (I'll ask that tomorrow morning.)

True, he didn't. But I didn't exclude men's, either.

I don't get mad when people put down women's basketball. I get annoyed when people claim that women's isn't as hard to ref as men's, and when people try to convince me that I shouldn't like women's. I couldn't care less whether others like women's ball or not.

No, and I didn't either. I just said that the first day of the men's tournament isn't the high point of my year, the first day of the women's is more exciting to me.

I'm not sure that the change in teams that are in the mix is greater on the men's side or the women's, but you might be right, but so what?

So you know most of the people that make that comment are those that work that level. If you have to constantly tell people that you are getting paid the same amount as those that are doing Men's or Boy's basketball without solicitation that is telling if you ask me. And in my opinion it is easier to work for a bunch of reasons which we do not need to get into. I do what I do and many do what they do because they enjoy working those levels, not what is necessarily easier.

Well why did you feel the need to remind us that today was not a big day for you? No one asked who agreed with the point of view that this was the day before Christmas or not; this was just a personal statement on his part and that is how most of us seemed to take it.

The women's game does not have the seeding upsets like on the men's side. And that alone adds to the level of interest. For one the men's game is on network TV and you can watch tournament games on your computer. I am not sure that you can do the same on the women's side.

And no matter what, I really think you need to lighten up about this topic. If you love Women's college basketball, start a thread about it and see if people respond. I am not sure why it matters that you feel so different about the product than others do.

Just a thought.

Peace

Some doctors are even offering a free pizza. Make sure you pick the right doc!

I picked the one who caused me no pain or discomfort this morning.

I'm on the basement sofa with frozen peas, my computer, codeine/tylenol, a 65" TV, and games starting in 40 minutes.

If that doesn't describe "heaven", I don't know what does.

There were only two things that bothered me during my procedure - one was the smell of my own flesh burning, and the other was the nurse giggling while she assisted the doctor underneath my gown...

One moment of irony. Nurse tells me she'll step out while I put the gown on.
Professional modesty at its best. Five minutes later, she's putting betadine on "the area" with, ummm, vigor.

Oh, I also have an intercom to ask for stuff from the wife. Heaven, indeed.

Alright, I'm going to get crucified and will probably have to delete this:

Since they don't use March Madness how about 'It's that time of the month'

You are now the official target of jealousy of many American men this weekend.

Only on this forum can "Christmas morning", "NCAA Tournament", and "vasectomies" seem so naturally linked.
