Well, okay, for you maybe. For me, the Jesus thing adds a lot to Christmas, that just isn't there the first day of the men's tourney. And then there's the fact that the women don't play until Saturday... Gotta admit, it's NOT the best day of the year for me...

Women? Saturday? There are 8 men's games that day. Why don't the women wait until Monday to start?

Can't be anymore of a hostile environment than Lexington is for them right now! I wouldn't be surprised if we are looking for a new coach on Tuesday. YEAH!!!

I'm sure others feel the same way. It's bad scheduling.

A better idea: Take a half day on Thursday and a half day on Friday and only burn one leave day!

Juulie,

It is very well known that this event is a national pastime for a great deal of the country. Why is it necessary to point out that you watch something else in the context of this thread? After all, the World Baseball Classic is going on and I am sure there are people here that care about that. I would bet the majority of people here couldn't care less about either. The NIT started this week too, I have not heard anyone comment on that at all here.

Peace

It's True, Seriously ...

Easy way to get a day off from work to watch "March Madness":

Number of Vasectomies Rose During 2008 March Madness | NBC Connecticut

March Madness is a national pastime, true, but that phrase includes the women's games which don't start until Saturday. For me, that's when the excitement starts. So Nevada expressed his opinion, I expressed mine. NBD.

I do not recall that he excluded women's basketball. And if you want to express that opinion it is fair. But then do not get mad when people here put down women's basketball (which you have in the past). I do not think anyone in this thread about how they felt about one or the other. That being said, most people could give a damn about women's basketball. For one the same teams are in the mix every year and there are not the upsets in the women's games like there are on the men's side. So there is a different energy on the men's side and considering TV revenue and ticket sales, I could say this does not at all include Women's basketball and never did when referring to March Madness. Just my opinion of course.

Peace

Tomorrow morning, 8AM. It's true, it's true. I'll be on the couch with my frozen peas by the 11:10AM tipoff.

I'll admit, it was a coincidence considering I made the appointment in January.

Interesting then that the NCAA men's championship site uses the phrase about a dozen times and the women's site uses it.....not at all.
