eyezen Watching ACC tourney championship game... Two-handed reporting seems not only acceptable but prevalent.

Rich eyezen wroteWatching ACC tourney championship game... Two-handed reporting seems not only acceptable but prevalent. Is Valentine on the crew? He's the only one I've seen use it regularly.
eyezen rockyroad wroteAre you watching ACC Men's or Women's??:p It was the mens tourney. I don't do nor watch wimmens basketball. 😀
rockyroad eyezen wroteIt was the mens tourney. I don't do nor watch wimmens basketball. 😃 Too bad for you. Anyway, NCAA-W has used two-handed reporting for the past several years.
eyezen I watched the championship game today for most the first half and saw it from more than one official on more than one occasion. Not a big deal but just an observation. As I live in BigXII country I don't watch much ACC basketball so I can't comment on the regular season only this game.

GoodwillRef I have seen a lot of NCAA-M officials reporting using 2-Hand machanics this season. Most also chop the clock in as the trail as the lead on front court throw ins.
[deleted] I'm seeing more and more of the two-handed signals on foul reporting at the JUCO levels around here.
bradfordwilkins Dumb question... What is two-handed reporting? Is it referring to when you are reporting the foul using both hands (i.e. 2 fingers on one handed and 3 on the other to indicate foul on 23?)
M&M Guy No, and yes. 🙂 No, it was not a dumb question, and yes, two-handed reporting is using both hands for each digit of the player's number.

Welpe So how about another stupid question... With two hand reporting, I imagine you signal the player digits backwards (to you) so they read correctly from left to right for the table?
refguy Welpe wroteSo how about another stupid question... With two hand reporting, I imagine you signal the player digits backwards (to you) so they read correctly from left to right for the table? yes - 32 would be 3 with the right hand and 2 with the left.
Raymond refguy wroteyes - 32 would be 3 with the right hand and 2 with the left. Yes, and I cringed when I see officials who do it backwards, especially in games where 2-handed reporting is not the proper mechanic.
