about the 130 mark
He did make a play on the ball but once their arms get tangled then things got bad. Anyone know if they called it a flagrant 2 right away or after the stretcher/ scrum?

They announced the ejection after the scrum was all settled down, and before Garretson went to the monitor to see if any one else needed to be ejected. I never saw the officials give any special signal at the spot, so I think they discussed it briefly and then went with the ejection.

In the pro game they don't referee plays of this nature as to whether he makes a play on the ball, it is judged whether the contact was unnecessary and/or excessive. if it is just unnecessary then it is a FF1, but if it is unnecessary and excessive then it is deemed a FF2. it is also refereed with the WIF principle which stands for Windup, Impact and Follow through. in this case, Ariza winds up, there is significant impact especially to the head, and a good follow through. I would definitely deem this unnecessary and even excessive contact hence the FF2. hope that clears things up.
