backcourt- jump, frontcourt ?

nba lakers warriors- is this the same for high school, college.
ball in backcourt while dribbling. Pass. Player jumps from front and catches it and lands in back. violation called
I know this wouldn't be a violation for a throw-in and I know it is a violation to catch while the ball is in the front doing the jump from the BC.

Yes this is a violation in HS and college.

"You are where you were until you get where you're going."

The player catching the ball while airborne having last touches the FC gave the ball FC status. When (s)he landed in the BC, it's a violation.

Content is of course correct. The saying scans better (at least on this side of the border) if you use "till."
