Rule 9.3.3
 

My apologies for not doing the legwork and searching for this...I am sure it is answered in here somewhere.
Team A is shooting 2 free throws, I am administering them while one of my partners is closest to the benches. 2 of Team A's players leave the court to -get a drink of water, and to clean off shoes on the sticky mat? He tells me this after the half ends. I am thinking it is a violation for leaving the court, and that the first free throw should have been waved off? Am i correct on this? Thanks

tw1ns, I wouldn't go looking for calls....cause you just might find them. However from my understanding of 9.3.3 the violation was intended to prevent an advantage by one team usually the offensive team. In your case you could argue Team A received an advantage by stepping on the sticky mat.....but I am one of the knuckle heads who would not call this a violation under 9.3.3.
