Anybody here that the D-League is folding? If you have a link to the article, please post.

I worked with a former D-League official this season. He made a reference to the Arena Football League folding and said the D-League might be headed in the same direction. Mostly to due to the travel costs because the teams are so spread out geographically and in places that aren't near hub airports. But as far as I knew he was just speculating.

Our colleague who is currently in the D-League hasn't said anything to me.

I have heard absolutely nothing about that! if the WNBA is not folding then trust me, the D-League is not folding!

The WNBA survives only because the NBA pays the vast majority of its bills. If the D-League is independent, it might enjoy the same fate as arena football (and for the same reasons).

AFL hasn't folded...they've suspended this season in order to get more economic stability.

I'm not entirely sure but I think the NBA and NBDL are partnered.

I do not even think the NBDL is completely independent. The entire structure of that league is to place NBA players in minor league system in order to develop players that would not make an NBA roster. This is clearly an NBA investment similar to the WNBA.

Peace

That's what the USFL said, too.

The difference is the AFL has already outperformed the USFL by a long shot; and the AFL is not competing with the NFL.

AFL 2 is continuing this year from what I understand.

Peace
