free throws with no time on clock

Normally a player stands out on the free throw line by himself, if he has been fouled as time expires. This can be very intimidating, especially for a younger player. Is there any rule that says a coach cannot place players on the lane in there proper space? Basically for moral support.

Personally, if I were that player, I'd rather shoot with nobody on the lane, because that's how I practice free throws

8-1-3 ". . . If the ball is to become dead when the last free throw for a specific penalty is not successful, players shall not occupy any spaces along the free-throw lane."
