Gave my first ever T last night...

I'm a second year official, working with a strong first year. G JV game. Visiting coach lossing by about 18-20 in the 3rd. Complaining about other official not calling any fouls (really not a rough game at all, just sloppy).

He loses his mind again, I'm trail in front of his bench. I tell him, "Coach that's enough."

He responds "I'll say when that's enough"

Bang.

First T.

Warranted?

yes. And you could have added, "Let me help you out, you beligerant @#$@#$"

J/k about the second part. Just seat belt him and bring in the reigns.

Not only warranted, but in a few years you'll find that this one was easy.

I had a streak of 3 nights in a row calling T's. I was late in the 4th Qtr of the soph game and no T's. I make the mistake of saying to my self during a time out the streak is over.

Next play out of the time out a player reaches and slaps the are of the defender. I whistle the foul and the next thing I know the player slams the ball on the floor. The ball easily goes ten feet in the air.

The streak continues...

Oh, the best part is that the slap is the 7th team foul and the T is 8th. So we shoot the bonus, the T and give the ball to the other team. Pretty big penalty. Hope she learned something.

Wasn't the slap a team control foul?

HS has been pretty tame lately.

Men's league last night: blue has the ball with seconds left in Q2. "8... 7... 6... 5..." And then there's a steal by white. "4... 3-2-1." White jacks up what would be described as a 4-point shot.

Tweet. Unsporting.

Coming "out of a time out", it might have been during the throw-in.

Perhaps, but since the player then slammed the ball down; it was either after the throwin or it was the thrower (always possible.)
