Observations from a varsity game
 

Stayed for almost all the first half.

1. At the quarter, H coach asked U1 to watch V22 for pushing off. Early in the 2nd quarter, U2 (who had not had a chance to speak with U1) calls V22 for pushing off. Good call. I'm behind H bench, and see her look at one of her ACs and give him a high 5; obviously thinking they influenced the officials. Good grief.

2. 2Q, H bringing the ball up the court. V Coach requests and is granted a TO. HAC (a different one) asks how they can give V a TO. U1 realizes what he did and withdraws the timeout, pulls the kids out of the huddles, and gets the ball in play after apologizing to HHC.

He'd given some really good feedback to us, too, after our JV game. (shrug>)

Aren't they supposed to grant the accidentally given timeout?

Yep Don, you are correct. Once granted; it is given. Apologize for not being perfect and refocus.

Exactly, because as it worked out, V was given a free timeout. They probably used 15 seconds before he pulled them out to restart.
